Perl's DBIx::Class module -- or DBIC, as we its fans often call it -- is that language's premiere object-relational mapper for SQL databases.

DBIC represents the successful fusion of several constituent projects from throughout the Perl community, and is a gem of Modern Perl. Projects making proper use of DBIC represent all of its important data objects and relationships as a set of clearly defined and well documented software modules.

Along with Catalyst and Moose, DBIC lies at the core of Appleseed's development toolkit for making robust, maintainable software in Perl.
