About Appleseed

Appleseed Software Consulting LLC was founded in 2008 by Jason McIntosh, and is based in Somerville, Massachusetts. Prior to the company's formation, Jason had worked as an independent consultant.

A New England native, Jason has been a software professional since 1998, with particular expertise in the Perl programming language. A graduate of the University of Maine, he has co-authored two books about software: Perl & XML (with Erik T. Ray), and Mac OS X in a Nutshell (with Chuck Toporek and Chris Stone), both published by O'Reilly Media.

Jason's other projects include Volity, an open online game service, and The Gameshelf, a blog and video podcast about unusual games. His personal website is jmac.org.
